Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information that may be processed when you use LewisStructureGenerator.org, contact the project or request an unsupported compound reference.

Information you provide

The site does not currently offer user accounts or payment processing. If you email support, the message can include your email address, name, screenshots and any other information you choose to provide. Do not send passwords, confidential records or sensitive personal information.

Chemical formula input

Supported formula lookup is performed in your browser against the site's local data. When an input is not found locally, the compound name or formula may be sent to the PubChem PUG REST service to request a conventional two-dimensional structure reference. Do not enter personal information into the formula field.

Automatically collected technical data

Hosting, security and analytics providers may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, requested URL, approximate location, timestamps and diagnostic data. This information can be used to operate the site, understand aggregate usage, detect abuse and troubleshoot errors.

Analytics and cookies

The site uses Google Analytics. Analytics technology may use cookies or similar browser storage to distinguish visits and produce aggregate usage reports. You can restrict cookies through your browser settings, use privacy tools or block analytics scripts; some measurements may then be unavailable, but the core static content should remain accessible.

  • Respond to questions and correction reports.
  • Diagnose technical failures and abusive traffic.
  • Understand aggregate usage and popular content.

Sharing and sale of personal information

The site does not claim to sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers needed to host, secure, analyze and operate the site, or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or investigate abuse.

Retention

Contact messages and related correction records may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records and improve the project. Analytics and hosting data are retained according to the applicable provider configuration and policies. Data may be deleted or aggregated when it is no longer needed.

Children's privacy

The site is an educational reference and does not knowingly require children to create accounts or submit personal information. A parent or guardian should contact support if they believe a child has provided personal information that should be reviewed or removed.
